SOUTHERN BALTIC PARLAMENTARY FORUM
The Southern Baltic Parliamentary Forum is a political regional platform operating in the south east region of the Baltic Sea since 2004. The purpose of this platform is to identify key priorities for the sustainable development of the region, as well as together deal with challenges and represent common interests. Every year, a key issue is raised regarding the challenges faced by the Baltic Sea region and the EU. The outcome of the forum activity is the issue-based resolution that defines the common interests of the region and the recommended actions. This joint political resolution is addressed to the EU institutions, as well as national and regional authorities.
The regions members of the platform: Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein, City of Hamburg (Germany), Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, Pomeranian Voivodeship (Poland) and Kaliningrad Region (Russian Federation). The Shonen Region (Sweden) is as an observer.
The Association “Klaipėda Region” has been participating in the forum since 2017. In 2018, the Association joined it officially as an observer.
