CONFERENCE “GREEN TRANSFORMATION IN KLAIPEDA REGION”

Lithuanian Innovation Center and Association “Klaipeda Region” invite everyone who cares about the Klaipeda Region and its journey towards green transformation to the conference “Green Transformation of Klaipeda Region”.

Venue: Kultūros fabrikas (Bangų str. 5A, Klaipėda)

During the conference, Lithuanian Innovation Center will present prepared analysis of Klaipėda region’s possibilities of green transformations. The analysis was prepared in consultation with representatives of the private sector, science, and public sector experts.

One of the identified directions of Klaipeda region’s green transformation is the transition of food and beverage sector towards a circular economy, covering the entire value chain from agriculturally grown raw materials to food packaging and final transportation of products.

The analysis also reviews the smart specialization of the Klaipėda region, the most important national and European Union policies and provides an assessment of regional ecosystem, including the analysis of natural and socio-economic resources.

Based on analysis results, conference will hold a discussion where panellists will share their thoughts on Klaipeda region possibilities to become a leader of green transformation and implement smart specialization of the region.

Discussion’s key insights will be transformed into recommendations for regional and national policy makers.
